Instructor-Led Developmental Volleyball League


Take your game to the next level with the YMCA Volleyball Academy’s Instructor-Led Developmental Volleyball League at the Dye Clay YMCA!



Our Academy Competitive League is designed to assist players (8-9, 10-11 and 12-16 yr) with the evolution of their individual skill level while enhancing their level of play in a focused, competitive, and structured environment through instructor-led skill and drill practice training sessions and game coaching. Practice and games are led by YMCA volleyball staff.



Academy players receive 7 games, a single elimination tourney, a weekly one-hour instructor-led practice training session (entire age divisions train together), instructor coaches, game jersey, and tourney champ t-shirts for tourney winners.



Our entire YMCA volleyball coaching staff, led by Dye Clay YMCA Volleyball Coordinator Coach Rey Romero, collectively work together with the players in our program to share their knowledge and volleyball insight.

Players are evaluated, assessed and divided into balanced teams by our coaching staff for more competitive and balanced play.
Our Academy league is coed. We select, divide and position PLAYERS on teams based on skill specific attributes in order to balance squads at each position.
During the session, we work to build players and teams to compete through skill development, game IQ, and team play.
No coach is assigned a set team for the session.
Coaches share their game knowledge during practice training sessions and during assigned coaching duties on game days.
Players glean volleyball insight from our staff during every shared experience with the ultimate goal of taking their skills and game to the next level.
Automatic sub rotation for players during game play (managed and enforced by coaching staff). Younger divisions rotate in our traditional rec position rotation (back row to front row rotation). Older divisions are taught traditional volleyball position rotations.

Games End: SA, August 2

Cost

Members: $200 (includes uniform)

Non-Members: $350 (includes uniform)

Jersey provided. Volleyball shorts are recommended. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during
