Grandparents and Grandchildren — Join Us for Camp Heritage!
The Village Improvement Society and the Green Cove Springs Preservation Society invite grandparents and grandchildren in grades 1–6 to spend a memorable week together at the Rivers House Heritage and Adventure Center’s Camp Heritage!
Camp Heritage is much more than a summer camp—it is a chance for generations to learn, explore, create, and build together while discovering what makes a community thrive.
Throughout the week, participants will:
- Tour the Clay County Courthouse and learn how local government works from city and county leaders.
- Become Archi-Detectives as they walk through historic Green Cove Springs, observing buildings, architectural styles, and the stories they tell.
- Explore the places that serve our community, including parks, public facilities, and civic spaces, while learning how cities meet the needs of residents.
- Discover local history and community stories through visits to cultural and historic sites.
- Design and build their own Box City, a nationally recognized hands-on program that helps participants understand how communities are planned and how citizens work together to create great places. Box City teaches teamwork, problem-solving, planning, creativity, and citizenship while helping children and adults understand how real communities function.
Most importantly, grandparents and grandchildren will create lasting memories while working side by side, sharing stories, learning new things, and making new friends.
Space is limited, so reserve your family’s spot today!
