Feast of Plenty: Free Community Thanksgiving Meal for Clay County
Area churches and volunteers will again come together to serve the Feast of Plenty, an amazing, free, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal to any Clay County resident who needs one. The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at The Springs Church, the new Feast of Plenty location, 900 Park Avenue in Orange Park.
Those who are unable to prepare a traditional meal for their families, are homeless, or alone but would like to share Thanksgiving with others in our community are invited to dine in at The Springs Church. Meals may also be delivered to the elderly or disabled, those who are shut in, or those who work and are unable to prepare a meal. Pickup meals may also be requested.
The Feast of Plenty is a collaboration between The Springs Church, First Baptist Church of Orange Park (which hosted the event for 20 years), Celebration Church, and St. James A.M.E. Zion Church. Volunteers will prepare smoked turkey with dressing and gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cornbread, and rolls. Beverages will include hot cider, coffee, and tea. Holiday pies will be served for dessert.
