Elite Basketball Training - Guard Skills Clinic

Geared for the serious player looking to improve their game, the Y's Elite Basketball training features the highest level of basketball skills, drills and conditioning training led by Coach Joey Williams. The Guard Skills clinic will focus on both point and shooting guard positions while working on ball-handling, shooting, attacking the basket, pick-n-roll, ball protection, facilitating team play, game situations and conditioning. Players receive 8 weeks of guard skill progression training (one hour per week). Training is limited to 20 players max.

5:30-6:30p (6-8 years)
6:30-7:30p (9-11 years)
7:30-8:30p (12-16 years)

Coach Joey Williams is a basketball staple in Clay County, serving as the head basketball coach at Lakeside Junior High for 15 years and the head girls basketball coach at Fleming Island High for eight years. He has coached and trained at the YMCA since 1994 and now joins us as the basketball coordinator.
